Washington, DC — The Coalition for Responsible Home Education (CRHE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Gina Plata-Nino to its Board of Directors.
Plata-Nino brings extensive experience in the federal policy landscape, currently serving as the Director of SNAP Policy and Advocacy at the Food Action Resource Council. Previously, she was a Senior Policy Advisor for Nutrition and Agriculture in the 46th Administration. Her expertise in navigating systems of support and advocating for marginalized communities will support CRHE’s mission of empowering homeschooled children, and ensuring their access to resources.
“We are thrilled to welcome Gina Plata-Nino to our Board of Directors,” said Tess Ulrey, CRHE’s executive director. “Her professional commitment to ensuring access for homeschooled children, as well as abilities to navigate a complex advocacy landscape, will support critical opportunities as homeschooling grows across the country.”
Plata-Nino says she is “Excited to join an organization advocating for families and children who choose homeschooling and protecting access to safe, culturally and linguistically appropriate education.”
As a member of the Board of Directors, Plato-Nino will help guide the organization’s strategic direction and support its efforts to advance research, strengthen partnerships, elevate homeschool alumni voices, and advocate for policies that protect the rights and well-being of homeschooled children.
