Child Safety: Pennsylvania has some child welfare safeguards: caregivers convicted of crimes against children and sexual offenses are prohibited from homeschooling, but caregivers under active investigation for abuse are permitted to homeschool.

Notification: Pennsylvania requires home educators to notify the state that they are homeschooling every year.

Assessments: Pennsylvania requires some home educators to assess students for academic progress and submit results, but not across all homeschool options.

Home Educator Qualifications: Pennsylvania does not require all home educators to have a high school diploma or equivalent to homeschool through high school.
