Child Safety: Michigan has no child welfare safeguards: caregivers under active investigation for abuse and caregivers convicted of crimes against children and sexual offenses are permitted to homeschool.

Assessments: Michigan does not require home educators to assess students for academic progress.
Home Educator Qualifications: Michigan does not require all home educators to have a high school diploma or equivalent to homeschool through high school.
